Edge House
Edge House played a role on Walking on the Edge performative walk. A real estate agent played by Gustavo Ciríaco tries to sell a dream house to the audience passing by, but they soon learn, the perfect sea view house is fake and in danger of collapse.
The installation takes inspiration on the fall of 9 houses backyards in 1984, built on the coastline informally and leaving several families homeless. Despite its brief use during the performance, the structure’s goal was to create a permanent recreational space for the neighborhood using a vacant platform.
Now, along the fallen homes, a simple silhouette of a house re-appears by the sea. It tries to keep a memory, bring the community together to a new place of encounter and reflect on the meaning of property and its fragility.
