Push Pull

Push Pull

If the future of design was already pointing out for more fluid, flexible and mixed use spaces, after the 2020 pandemic it seems that there will be a need to take faster actions and adaptations in order to respond to the new future challenges. Push Pull is Mezzo Atelier’s response to Roversi Design Competition using the 6×6 system created by Cesare Roversi. The design aims to create extremely flexible “containers” which easily grow or decrease, adapting to the consumer present needs of space.

Workspaces aren’t tied to a formal office space anymore and will continue to spread and contaminate other locations as our homes, fancy co-workings, cafeterias, libraries, airports, etc. Adaptive workstations can help workers to find intimacy and focus inside such ambiences and manage their needs for space and work relations to other colleges or partners. Push Pull workspace is a fluid desk for one or more people with other functions like side sofa or bed and storage space.

Microenvironments can resolve functionality or programmatic situations into existing spaces by creating scenographic and beautiful atmospheres. An extendable domestic pavilion introduces programs like a green house, a sleeping room or eating and living room, in all kinds of pre-existing architectures.

Typology: Design Competition
Materials: Wooden Modular System
Project Year: 2020
Team: Giacomo Mezzadri, Joana de Oliveira, Sabrina Sinelli
